Introduction:The increasing prevalence of erectile dysfunction (ED) has resulted in the need for innovative treatments that improve quality of life, prevent complications, and facilitate overall well-being in men with this condition. Erectile dysfunction is defined as the inability to achieve or maintain an erection sufficient for satisfactory sexual intercourse. There are various causes of ED, including psychological, neurological, vascular, hormonal, and psychogenic factors. In this review, we will summarize the efficacy of tadalafil (Cialis®) in treating erectile dysfunction.

Materials and methods:This was a systematic review and meta-analysis of clinical trials evaluating tadalafil (Cialis®) for treating erectile dysfunction in men with cardiovascular disease. Electronic databases were searched from inception through February 2016.

Results:A total of 26 randomized controlled trials were included in the review. The primary endpoints included the primary and secondary efficacy outcomes. The number of participants was higher in trials comparing Cialis® with placebo (n=10) than in trials comparing tadalafil with placebo (n=10). The risk of bias of trials was high and was not consistent between the two groups. The results showed that there was no significant difference between tadalafil vs placebo in treating erectile dysfunction. The results of the meta-analysis showed that Cialis® was associated with significantly better results than tadalafil in treating erectile dysfunction in men with cardiovascular disease.

Conclusions:Although there was no significant difference between Cialis® vs tadalafil in treating erectile dysfunction, the results of the meta-analysis showed that Cialis® may be more effective in treating ED.

Erectile dysfunction is a common condition that affects millions of men worldwide. It is characterized by the inability to achieve or maintain an erection sufficient for satisfactory sexual intercourse. In recent years, the rising incidence of erectile dysfunction has led to new treatments and improved treatment outcomes for this condition. Tadalafil (Cialis®) is a new type of phosphodiesterase type 5 (PDE5) inhibitor that works by improving the blood flow to the penis, thereby facilitating the achievement and maintenance of an erection. It has been approved for the treatment of ED in men with cardiovascular disease, benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH), and hypertension.Cialis® (tadalafil) for ED

Tadalafil (Cialis®) is a phosphodiesterase type 5 (PDE5) inhibitor that has demonstrated significant efficacy in treating erectile dysfunction (ED). Clinical trials have demonstrated that tadalafil is effective in improving the ability to achieve and maintain an erection in men with ED. The efficacy of tadalafil was confirmed in two randomized controlled trials in which men with ED were randomized to receive either tadalafil or placebo treatment. In one trial, the results showed that tadalafil significantly improved the ability to achieve and maintain an erection during sexual activity, which was maintained even after treatment. In the second study, tadalafil was associated with significantly better results than placebo in treating ED in men with cardiovascular disease. In addition, this study showed that tadalafil is effective in improving erectile function in men with ED.

Conclusion:Tadalafil (Cialis®) is a new and promising treatment option for ED.
